belgisches lifestyle-magazin aus antwerpen, neuerdings im din-a5-format, wirkt aber nicht so kleingeschrumpft wie glamour oder andere deutsche frauenzeitschriften, die seit letztem jahr pygmäisiert aus dem boden schiessen. subheadline der zeitschrift: "45 people, places & things we like". die zahl ist programm, alle artikel sind von 1 bis 45 durchnumeriert. alle beiträge sind zweisprachig (flämisch/englisch) verfasst.
aus dem editorial: "Pulp can be your agent (at your service), your personal guide through international media and arts by pointing out good, beautiful and interesting books, sites, shops, gadgets, technology, music ... and by talking to the people behind it all. No shopping list of 'must haves', but an array of references and possibilities customised to fit your tastes. If you like Ali G's highschool prank humour but also want to know what a 20.000 dollar cellphone looks like, why Britney went underground, how Stephan Hawking sees the future of the human race, why writer Per Verhelst orders his readers around, who's the newest talent in fashion these days, who the pioneers of skating and the NY punk scene were .. then you've got the right mag." ok, der typische editorial-schwalltext, über ali g will man nicht wirklich noch mehr wissen und über vertu schon gleich garnicht, aber der großteil der vorgestellten heftthemen kam mir doch recht gut und originell ausgewählt vor. musik, fashion, ausstellungen, foto, models, bücher, websites, trends, interviews, popgeschichte etc., alles mögliche, recht vielseitig und wenig abgelutschte hypestories. ein paar pr-plazierungen gibt's natürlich auch (vertu, diesel, taschen, levis), der anzeigenanteil liegt bei ca. 20 prozent.
das kompakte, nüchterne layout gefällt mir gut: serifenlose, recht kleine typo, meist schwarze schrift auf weißem grund, der text läuft einspaltig über die ganze seitenbreite, fotos meist seitengroß, kaum layoutspielereien.
pulp kostet 7 euro, ein 60-seitiges street-ähnliches zusatzheftchen namens box gibt's kostenlos dazu. "box is a free bimonthly magazine depicting today's urban people in their natural environment."
im großen und ganzen ist pulp ein nettes, interessantes heftchen. man wäre froh - die ewige leier - wenn es ein ähnliches magazin in deutschland und auf deutsch gäbe. aber deutschland ist ja nur das bevölkerungsreichste land europas, da rechnet sich sowas nicht.
